Castle Stuart is the new host venue for the 2011 Barclays Scottish Open. The new kid on the Highlands block, Castle Stuart has been receiving rave reviews since its opening. Breathtaking views and exceptional course design by Parsinen, who created Kingsbarns characterize this course. Parsinen has used his course development knowledge to allow tees of sufficient length that the ‘tee of the day’ can be set with the weather conditions in mind. Careful, strategic gorse planting allows each hole to be individual with little outside influence. The course is an easy walking affair, with a rise on the par 5 12th being the only hole to make you lose your breath (apart from the views).
